A unique white wine from near a shellfish-rich lagoon, great with seafood and fab on its own.
Claude Jourdan’s vineyard runs down to the Bassine de Thau, where the roots are where the vineyard is at the highest altitude on the estate, 50 m, yet still within 2 km of the sea. It benefits from the cooling influence of the water and sea breezes, retaining Claude Jourdan’s style of very fruity Piquepoule with good minerality and excellent balance.
No oak is used to maintain the simplicity of Claude’s wines. Ten weeks on fine lees adds complexity and depth.
